Of all the posters I’ve done so far (only a small handful), this was the most difficult. Nailing the painterly-ish look was one thing, but character placement probably took the most time. All of the images except the title character – the most prominent – are taken from actual framegrabs or stills captured on-set.

Max Peril is a movie within a movie. The story follows Riley Young, a hopeless filmmaker who has a stack of test films and half-attempted movies under his belt, but has never completed a full movie.
In an effort to finish a film before turning thirty, and in hopes of winning his county’s first annual film festival, Riley Young documents and re-creates the increasingly far-fetched stories of a retired secret agent using only local talent, a VHS camcorder, and every low-budget filmmaking trick he knows.
